Marco Island
lies in the Southwest corner of the Gulf coast of Florida. 200 Miles
southwest of Orlando, 170 Miles south of Tampa and 100 miles west
of Miami. It is the largest of the ten thousand islands at the western
gateway to the Everglades National Park. Only 6 miles long and 4
miles wide it is famous for its three and a half mile white sand
beach. There is an abundance of tropical foliage and flowers everywhere.
Marco itself is contained with several large modern supermarkets,
lots of shops and restaurants and a cinema. Some of the Hotels have
live music, jazz and dancing, and for the golfer there are more
than 35 courses nearby.

Fishing, sailing,
Jet-ski's, para-gliding or wind surfing, its all there. There are
several marinas for small cruises, and boat hire.
About 45 minutes drive will take you to Everglades City, and the
National Park which is a different world altogether.
