Maria is your island in the sun. Its is about 7 miles long,
a narrow strip of land joined by two bridges to the small town
of Bradenton. It is just north of Sarasota, about an hours drive
south of Tampa Airport. Two hours from Orlando Airport an about
four hours from Miami. Disney World is also a 90 minute drive.

The seaward
shore of the Island is an arc of lovely white sand beaches, and
the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The eastern shore faces the
inland waterway which separates the island from the mainland.Rentals
and lessons for sailing, power boating, sailboarding or jet-skiing
are available at a number of places on the Island, and of course
it's a fisherman's paradise. There are playgrounds, parks, tennis
and shuffleboard courts. There are also a few small grocery stores
and boutiques.

Within short driving
distance onto the mainland there are many shopping plazas with larger
supermarkets and department stores and of course many more restaurants.
The manatee Country golf course is also nearby. The island lifestyle
is laid back, casual and unsophisticated. A holiday here gives you
the best of everything. |
